On may 24th Twitter announced some big updates on the tweet format, providing the 300M+ users a richest canvas for sharing their stories.
After almost 4 months, Twitter released today some of those anticipated updates.
Here’s what changes:
Now when you add attachments like photos, GIFs, videos, polls, or Quote Tweets, that media will no longer count as characters within your Tweet. More room for words!
With more space to write, companies have a perfect opportunity to better conversations with their audiences and stand out with visual and media attachments, one of Twitter’s most powerful engagement boosters.
According to a Twitter study, the effect on retweets using:
- Photos average a 35% boost in Retweets
- Videos get a 28% boost
- Quotes get a 19% boost in Retweets
- Including a number receives a 17% bump in Retweets
- Hashtags receive a 16% boost
